... yep, that time of year when we revive Joan Selects Volume 11 - A Doo Wop Christmas! First posted (with a different cover) in December 2008. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then but somehow Be Bop Wino bops on.
Speaking of bopping on - here's a Christmas swinger courtesy of Tom Archia and Gene Ammons. It usually turns up on Ammons compilations but it was originally released on Aristocrat in November 1948 credited to Tom Archia And His All Stars. A re-release on Chess in December 1950, with a new title, "Boppin' For Santa," was credited to Gene Ammons with Tom Archia. Anyway enjoy Tom and Gene blowing through some seasonal favourites -

With thanks to Joan for the doowop delights and also thanks to all who contribute and comment on the blog. Merry Christmas to everyone out there in Be Bop Wino Land.

Thank you folks. Christmas is almost here - just over 20 minutes to go! All the best to everybody.

A Very Merry Christmas to you!!!
Happy Holidays!
(A bit late . . . .Er, or . . . EARLY . . .!??! . . . 300-some-odd shopping daze 'til xmas . . .. 2018 . . ?!?!)
Uh, how does one download the "BOX" tune ("Swinging For Christmas")???
Usually "BOX" has a D-L "button" to the upper RIGHT of the page. Not in this case...
Happy "BOXING Day"...!
Oops. Late on that one, too(!)
You got stoned and you missed it, didn't you? (copyright Shel Silverstein).
The answer to your question about d/l from Box is - one doesn't. I only have a free account and didn't want to exceed the bandwidth limit. However as it's nearly Christmas 2018, here is an early present - a mega download link for Tom Archia and Jug:
