03. Daddy Please Come Home - Eunice & Eddie
04. Josephine - Rudy Ray Moore

07. Woncha Gone - Tommy Ridgley
08. Soul & Stomp - Lil' Ray and the Premiers

Another missive from the rock 'n' roll demi-monde. This volume of Rock'n Roll Dance Party is heavy on the R&B side although rockabilly bawler Joyce Harris fits right in. We last encountered her going under the name of Sinner Strong on the T-Bird Party comp.

There are quite a few clicks and even some jumps on this LP. I can't make up my mind on the cause - scratched LP or were the original 45s pretty trashed? However the sound quality is quite good in general, although the final track, the frantic "Soul & Stomp", jumps a few times. It gets there in the end, though!

As usual I've nosed around the internet to bring you the original release details on these rockin' platters.

I'm off on a short break to Vienna in a couple of days, so there will be no further posts on Be Bop Wino until the middle of next week at least. There is some good news - my turntable is back in action so more vinyl shall be ripped. And there's a humungous treat from Joan on the way! Keep rockin' kats 'n' kittens.

Update - If you dig Varetta Dillard's "Scorched" on this comp then you may like her "Double Crossing Daddy" compilation on Mr R&B. I've re-upped the album and added a new Mega link to the original post from December 2011.

Hmm. There's a copy on Vol. 1 on eBay. If I can snag that I'll complete y'alls' collection.

Rockin' good news! As you can see from my scans I bought a few of these kind of comps when they were being sold off cheap at Missing Records in Glasgow. I never did see Volume 1.

Welp, I went ahead and bought the record. I'll rip and share when I get it. Of course, I did a search on my hard drive AFTERWARDS, and it turns out I've had all three of these volumes for years and forgot about them. Ha!

Regardless, I'll send both versions and you can choose.

This one's great, BTW!!

Cheers Billy! I've just downloaded both. Your version has better artwork and bitrate, so it is probably the one to with. I'll give them both a listen anyway. The track list is moutn watering! I'll post a version up in case the rock 'n' roll fans miss these links in the comments section.

Many thanks again
